1. Haven Price: Free Haven made waves because of Edward Snowden. The app itself uses old, unused devices as security devices. You set it anywhere. The app keeps logs, sounds, and video of any disturbances from sound or movement. All of the data is available on the device locally. Additionally, the app is free, open source, and has more features. It's not overly useful for everyday folks. However, those who travel a lot or have sensitive information may find it useful. 2. Amazon Go Price: Free Amazon launched its official app for Amazon Go. Amazon Go is a chain of stores without checkout lines. You get what you need, leave, and the app charges you for what you took. You can turn any YouTube video into a GIF using the URL.

Everyone loves GIFs, but knowing how to make them isn't common knowledge. Well, it should be, because all it takes is a little YouTube URL trick. To create a GIF from a YouTube video:  Select a video to watch on YouTube and find the URL at the top of your browser. Add the word "gif" right before the domain name so it reads, "www.gifyoutube.com/[your-video-tag]." This will bring you to gifs.com, with your video already uploaded and ready for editing. Here, you'll find a menu of options to the left-hand side with a timeline bar along the bottom of your video. You can set the GIF duration, crop its frame, add captions, and more. Click "Create GIF" on the top-right and it'll prompt you for a GIF title and set of tags. Then click "Next," and you have a handy landing page from which to share your newly minted GIF. Keep in mind you can only download this GIF to an offline file by signing up with gifs.com.

Google will pay $1,000 to hack some of Android’s most popular apps

Details are light at the moment, but a bit of news out of Google’s Playtime developer event this morning: the company is launching a Google Play bug bounty program that’ll encourage researchers to poke around and look for vulnerabilities in some of Android’s most popular apps (both those built by Google and those built by third-party devs.) Called the “Google Play Security Reward” program, the new program aims to get researchers to work directly with Android app developers to find vulnerabilities. If you help a developer squash a bug, Google will pay you $1,000 (on top of whatever bounty the third-party dev themselves might pay). Here’s what we know so far: The program only includes a limited selection of Android apps at the moment. Not  all  Android apps. The list currently includes Alibaba, Dropbox, Duolingo, Headspace, LINE, Snapchat and Tinder along with “all Google-developed Android apps available on Google Play”. Apps must be invited into the program for...
